The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination is one of India’s most formidable tests, drawing candidates from every corner of the nation who diligently prepare for the competitive exam to gain entry into the elite civil services. Most candidates put in hours of focused dedication and strategic planning. However, only a select few successfully navigate the complexities of the UPSC exam to secure coveted positions as IAS officers, IPS officers, and other esteemed roles. Ananya Singh’s remarkable achievement of clearing the UPSC exam at the age of 22, on her first attempt, without the aid of coaching, exemplifies the determination and dedication required for such a significant accomplishment. One candidate who stands out for her relentless dedication and perseverance is Ananya Singh, who achieved success in the examination within a single year of preparation, and notably, without any formal coaching assistance.

Ananya, who hails from Prayagraj, excelled as the top student in her class 10, securing 96 % and class 12 board examinations, getting 98.2 %. She pursued her graduation from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi in Economics, which is when she started preparing for UPSC in her last year of graduation.

IAS officer Ananya Singh possesses a talent for playing the synthesiser and holds a deep fondness for reading. She disclosed that she resumed practicing answer writing after completing the Mains exam. Despite facing time constraints that hindered her focus on writing, she remarkably succeeded in cracking the UPSC exam in her initial attempt.

Reports suggest that Ananya adhered to a fixed six-hour study schedule, efficiently preparing for both the prelims and mains concurrently. In 2019, she appeared in the UPSC Civil Services Exam, achieving an impressive All-India Rank of 51. Ananya’s remarkable feat of becoming one of the youngest IAS officers, cracking the exam at just 22 years old after a year of dedicated preparation, stands as a testament to her determination and capability. Presently stationed in West Bengal, she has garnered significant popularity, particularly on Instagram, where she boasts a following of 45K. Ananya Singh’s journey serves as an inspiration for aspiring IAS officers, motivating them to pursue their dreams with dedication and perseverance.

Securing success in the IAS examination on the initial attempt is a challenging feat, achieved by only a minority. The UPSC exam stands as one of the most rigorous tests in the nation, demanding extensive preparation. While some candidates seek guidance from coaching institutes to qualify, others opt for self-study.
