ISRO Launched ‘CHANDRAYAAN 2’

After the successful landing of Chandrayaan on the Moon, ISRO announced its intent to launch a second mission. As India successfully started its second mission to the moon to probe its dark side with Chandrayaan 2 being placed in Earth’s orbit, the India Research and Space Organisation (ISRO) is eagerly planning a mission into space. The agency is already heading to its next mission, launching its spacecraft to Venus and the most daring, a manned mission to space.

ISRO has successfully launched a mission to soft land a rover on the moon, which will soon be a landmark in the history of the nation. India is now on the road to becoming the fourth country in addition to China United States and the former Soviet Union, to make a soft landing on the lunar surface. It is the nation’s biggest achievements after the ‘MANGALYAAN’.

The newly launched Chandrayaan will travel for two months, before positioning itself in a circular orbit 62 miles (100 kilometers) above the moon’s surface. From there, Vikram, a lander will detach from the main vessel and carefully land on the moon’s surface near its south pole. the orbiter will study the lunar surface and study the outer atmosphere of the moon over a period of time.
As the entire nation feels proud, the Prime Minister has congratulated ISRO on twitter, stating it’s a special moment for the entire nation. The launch of Chandrayaan showcases the talent of our scientists and several Indians to scale new frontiers of science. India plans to send it’s astronauts to space by 2022.

Chandrayaan-1 was India’s maiden lunar mission discovered on water molecules on the surface of the moon.
India’s attempt for soft-landing is a far greater technical challenge than the controlled crash of Chandrayaan-1. In addition to the previous missions, Chandrayaan-3, will be scheduled for a return mission to the moon in 2023-2024.

After the successful installation of ‘Mars Orbiter Mission’ on the Martian orbit, ISRO stated that the next mission will be to launch a second mission to Mars on 28 October 2014 at the Engineers Conclave conference held in Bangalore. India holds the position of being the first Asian nation to reach the Red Planet.
