Biotin for Hair Growth

If you suffer from hair loss problems you must have come across a supplement called Biotin, which is a water-soluble vitamin that’s a part of the vitamin B family. Dermatologists believe to have an immense belief in biotin supplements to help one recover from a hair loss cycle. Although there are no clinical trials to support the use of biotin supplementation to improve hair health but still the usage is said to help in hair loss.

When you suffer hair fall it is expected to be connected with some internal deficiencies. It is best to get your blood scanned for the problem and then approaching with the best possible cure for it.

Keratin is the basic protein that makes up your hair, skin, and nails. Biotin is said to improve your body’s keratin levels.

Research on the effects of biotin on hair growth has not yet been achieved elaborately. In a 2015 study, women with thinning hair took an oral marine protein supplement (MPS) containing biotin or a placebo pill twice per day for 90 days. A digital proof of the same was maintained with images throughout the trial. Also, the hair loss before each photo session was counted to maintain a record. The researcher found that women who took an MPS experienced a significant amount of hair growth in the areas affected by hair loss. They also had less shedding of hair at the time of hair wash.

However, it should be kept in mind that we have an abundant source of biotin in our daily intake through natural sources along with our body producing it. It is always better to take biotin-rich foods instead of supplements as it might look effective in the start, but natural sources are better in the long run.

Biotin is found naturally in many foods, such as egg yolks, liver, cauliflower, mushrooms, soybeans, beans, lentils, almonds, nuts, and whole grains. It can also be produced in your body by intestinal bacteria, which makes its deficiency a rare one.

It is better to have them in raw form as heat might reduce the efficiency of these foods. There are other benefits of biotin like reduced inflammation, improves cognitive functioning, and helps lower blood sugar in people with diabetes. Also, increases “good” HDL cholesterol and decreases “bad” LDL cholesterol therefore great for the heart.

No supplement is bad only until you do not take any professional help.
