Rohit Sharma, as an international cricketer, has completed a decade in the game. There has been no doubt about his immense contribution as a player in limited forms of cricket including T20’s and ODIs. However, Rohit failed to get into the Test team due to huge competition and when he was about to debut in 2009, he was injured during the practice session and had to wait for long to be a part of test matches. In a match against the West Indies in 2013, he ended up making a century.
Rohit Sharma hit his double century during the test match in Visakhapatnam against South Africa. Rohit Sharma has been promoted as an opener in Test cricket, and is shinning like a star and has become unstoppable. After a poor start on Day 1, Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane’s partnership helped team India get a hold of the match.
Batting as an opener for the first time in this series, Rohit hit a century with several sixes in day 1 and completed his double century with a six on day 2 in 249 balls. He has hit 28 fours and 5 sixes to complete his double hundred. He has become the 5th Indian opener to score 500 plus runs in a Test series.
He has recorded three double centuries in the ODI cricket and has become a hitman in tests too.
