Being at home has made us do all our tasks that involve many different things like dealing with heat. It can cause burns, that are common household injuries seen now or then, deciding on if it requires an urgent professional visit or not is up to you. But yes, one should be aware of some home remedies that can be utilized to relieve pain and redness, but one should follow it with caution.

Here are a few easy and effective burn treatments:

Cool Water Therapy

Placing the burnt area under direct running water (cool) for around 20 minutes can help soothe the burn. It prevents the skin from getting further damaged and somehow works as a pain reduction method.

Cleaning the Burn

It is important to keep your burn area clean so that dead skin doesn’t create any build-up. A clean wound helps in a faster healing process, do see a doctor if the wound doesn’t heal or dry out.

Bandages

First or second-degree burns usually don’t require any bandage in case of no open blisters. The position of the burn also is a primary concern, any place that has more chances of developing infection needs to be bandaged, creating a barrier between the wound and external infection-causing reasons.

Aloe Vera

A tropical application of this gel can help treat burns and promote wound healing. It is an anti-inflammatory agent with anti-antibacterial properties.

Honey

Honey helps sterilize the burn preventing infection while soothing the skin and easing out the pain. However, one should always test for themselves before using any home remedies.

Over the counter drugs are also one of the go-to methods for treating pain and swelling due to burns. Also, one should avoid going out in the sun as it can deepen the burn, cover the wound when you step out in the sun.

Always be careful when you are handling hot items and take all precautionary measures.
