Most sports are often played during the Olympics, where each athlete, from his or her own country compete against each other. The sports industry has been and continues to generate billions in revenue, especially in developed countries.

Football (soccer)

With a fan base of 4 billion people and global influence, football is a popular sport. Ancient soccer goes way back to china, as the 2nd century. The other first players of the sport are the Romans, Greeks, and Japanese. Modern soccer gained immense interest in England and then rapidly spread to other parts of the world. It is played often in Europe and the USA, as compared to the other parts of the world. 

The sport consists of 2 teams and eleven players. The objective is to hit the ball into the goal defended by the opposite team.

Cricket is the second most popular sport in the world. It has 2.5 billion fans across  the world. Cricket is  followed by all age groups whether a child, adult or an elderly . This game brings joy and excitement in life. . Cricket was introduced in  the 16 century by the  Britishers, played for fun occasionally. . In free time, the game would be played to stay fit and build sportsmanship. It went on to become a professional game in several Asian countries, and has been played since the last 10 decades.

The world owns very few teams of cricket but the fans are situated in all over the world. England, Australia, South Africa, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and New Zealand are popular teams of world.

HOCKEY

Field Hockey owns the 2 billion fans across the world. Globally this sport has the third most popularity. This game has huge influence in all the continents like Europe, Asia, South Africa and Australia. Even hockey is the national sports India. This is quite a similar game as soccer but the players drive the ball from hockey stick. This game mostly played in the Asian countries like Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and India.
