Super Flower Moon, 2020

Missed on the spectacular Super Pink Moon last month? Here’s your chance to look at even more of a beautiful occurrence in the sky- the Super Flower Moon. It is named so for its occurrence at the time of full bloom spring all around the globe can enjoy that.
The phenomenon of the supermoon comes into existence as the full moon coincides with the perigee – the closest point to Earth on the elliptical orbit. This makes the moon appear larger than usual to the human eyes.  In terms of astronomical events, we have seen a couple of them like – the Worm Moon in March and the Pink Moon in April.
The timing for such events is very crucial as if looking only at the right time can you view the best of it. This time you might not get to see the large size of the moon as the distance is not that close.
According to NASA, the Super Flower Moon will be visible to attain its peak illumination on May 7 at 04:15 pm. At that very moment, the moon will be at a distance of 361,184 kilometres from Earth. The easiest features to spot on the moon with binoculars are the craters that look brighter at such times.
This is an amazing time for all enthusiasts as we are all at our homes and if with the binoculars, you can enjoy the best time of your life. Look at the beautiful view of craters like the Copernicus, Tycho, and the landing site of Apollo 11.
