Creativity was brought about in 1666. An influential genius Newton, once walking in the garden was suddenly hit with a stroke of creative intelligence. It was once while standing under an apple tree, saw the fruit falling to the ground. He wondered why the apple descended perpendicularly to the ground, and why could it not fall sideways or upwards.
There was only one reason that he could think of i.e. the earth draws it by some force. This was all possible due to the drawing power of a matter – Gravity was born!
Creative Thinking: Destiny or Development
Creative thinking enables our brain to connect to meaningless ideas. Is this a skill that we have to develop or do we inherit it the day we are born?
According to various psychologists, a certain per cent of creativity is due to inherited genes. The difference in creativity was even noticed between sets of twins. It is easier to simply say that we are not the creative type, to avoid thinking creatively. Of course, certain people are a lot more creative than most. Every individual is born with certain creativity skills and most skills can be attained with the training of our brain.
Embarrassment and Creativity
Is there a way of implementing creativity in practical terms? It simply comes down to one thing, which is the willingness to take up challenges without thinking of its outcome.
According to various psychologists, a growing mind is always focused on the ongoing process than the result. It is easier said than done. Most people don’t want to deal with the shame of not knowing, therefore, learning a new skill. We can often recover from our mistakes in a short period. Most of us on some level do realise that the world will not end if the book we wrote, won’t sell or if we turn down a potential date.
The idea of dealing with the embarrassment or looking stupid blocks us from starting. We have to be able to face the truth, to improve on our creativity to attain a better mindset.
Creativity is a process that enables us to work through various life challenges. We have to keep practicing our craft and stick to it whatsoever may happen just like Newton did, to see our creativity blossom.
