5 Sustainable Beauty Trends to Know

In recent years we have seen a moderate change in the beauty industry, but 2019 is is said to be completely different. It’s important to keep up with the change in trends. Here are the 5 sustainable beauty trends to watch out for this year

Biodegradable Ingredients

So we’ve tackled micro-beads and face wipes, but in 2019 we can expect to see a new trends. Beauty companies are now looking more closely at the ingredients they use in their products, taking the planet and the various kinds of skin types into consideration.

Sustainable Packaging

As consumers become more ardent defenders of the planet, companies will strive to meet sustainable demands by not using plastic. Most people have started using recycled plastic, instead of using petroleum-based plastic,  for more environmental friendly atmosphere people should use a total of 100 tonnes of recycled plastic. Most companies, if they aren’t already doing so, will invest in and develop their own recyclable and/or recycled packaging.

Refillable Products

We’ve seen a little of this recently, but there’s definitely room for improvement. More companies will be jumping on the bandwagon with this sustainable refillable trend in 2019 as it becomes more popular with consumers. Rather than selling the same packaged products over and over to the same buyers, companies have began selling refillable products, so, all you need to do is keep your lipstick, moisturiser or foundation.  If you’re considering a new refillable alternative to your own products, try out the refillable The ONE Make-up Pro Palette, which you can customise to your own taste and complexion with replaceable matte and pearl shades!

Mobile Apps

2019 will be the year when there will be apps  that survey and rate beauty products based on ethical, green criteria. Mobile apps can also reduce or even negate the need for paper.

Renewable Energy Use

There are also possibilities to see a difference in the way  beauty products are manufactured. Some companies are already incorporating renewable energy sources, such as wind power, into their manufacturing processes. This is a trend that we expect to become more common in the beauty industry as we all are progressing into 2019.
